How this is different
Most guest post lists are copied from other lists. Nobody re-checks them, so they rot. We found live examples while building this tool:
- searchenginejournal.com/contribute now redirects to an unrelated article — the program is gone, but it still returns a “working” page.
- socialmediatoday.com says in plain text: “We are not currently accepting any new contributor applications.”
- moneycrashers.com/write-for-us quietly redirects to a blog post.
All three would pass a simple “is the page online?” check. We read the page, follow every redirect, and drop anything that says it is closed.
