About NewBacklink

Last updated 11 September 2026

NewBacklink is a free collection of SEO and webmaster tools, together with the AI Citation Index, a public archive of which brands AI models name when people ask them for software recommendations. You can use every tool without creating an account, and every result says where its data came from.

What you can do here

The tools section covers the checks that site owners, developers and marketers run most often:

  • On-page and technical SEO: SEO checker, meta tag checker, schema markup validator, keyword density checker, robots.txt checker, sitemap checker, redirect checker and broken link checker.
  • Domains and infrastructure: WHOIS lookup, domain age checker, DNS lookup, SSL checker, domain authority checker and CMS detector.
  • Performance: website speed test.
  • AI search: LLMs.txt generator and AI citation checker.
  • Outreach: guest post finder.

Each tool does one job and shows its result on a single page. Where a check depends on an outside source, such as a domain registry or Google PageSpeed Insights, the result names that source.

The AI Citation Index

More people now ask AI assistants which software to buy, and the answers help decide which brands end up on a shortlist. Those answers are rarely recorded anywhere, so it is hard to tell how they change or whether a brand is gaining or losing ground.

The AI Citation Index is a daily archive of which brands AI models name when they are asked software-buying questions. It records what specific models said, on specific dates, in response to specific questions. That makes it possible to look at changes over time instead of relying on a single screenshot or a guess.

The methodology page explains how the index is built and what it can and cannot tell you. The leaderboard shows the current results.

How we work

A few principles shape every tool and every page on the site:

  • Free, with no signup. No account, no trial and no email address are needed to see a result.
  • Sources are stated. Every tool says where its data comes from and what it cannot see. A WHOIS lookup can only show what the registry publishes. A link-based score can only count links in the data it was built from. A speed test describes the test run that produced it.
  • "We don't know" beats a guess. When data is missing, blocked or unreliable, the tool says so instead of filling the gap with an invented number.
  • No paid-link schemes. We do not sell links or take part in link schemes, and the tools are not designed to help anyone manipulate search rankings with paid links.
  • No data selling. We do not sell or rent personal data. The privacy policy describes exactly what is stored and for how long.

Why the tools are free

Many "free" SEO tools are lead magnets. They show part of a result, then ask for an email address or a paid plan to see the rest. That model affects what those tools show and what they hold back, because the free version exists to sell the paid one.

NewBacklink is operated as an independent project and has no paid plan to sell. The tools are free because they are meant to stay free and complete. The site may be supported by non-intrusive advertising in the future. If that happens, the privacy policy will be updated before any ads appear.

Limits worth knowing

Automated tools can be wrong. A site may block our requests, a data source may be temporarily unavailable, or a page may change after it was checked. Results are estimates, and the disclaimer explains the limits of each score in more detail. If you want to know how our crawler behaves on your site, see the NewBacklinkBot page.
