Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information newbacklink.com (the "site") collects, why, how long it is kept and who else receives it. The site is operated as an independent project, referred to here as "we" or "us".

Summary#

• There are no user accounts. You do not need to sign up to use any tool.
• Tool inputs and results are kept for up to 30 days, then deleted.
• Raw IP addresses are not stored with tool runs. We store a salted one-way hash instead.
• Public pages and tools set no cookies. No analytics or advertising cookies are used.
• We do not sell or rent personal data.

What we collect and why#

Tool inputs and results#

When you run a tool, we store what you entered (for example a URL, domain name, block of text or niche) together with the result. This lets us serve a cached result if the same check is run again soon, and lets you share a link to a result. Stored inputs and results are deleted after at most 30 days.

If you share a result link, anyone who has the link can view that result until it is deleted.

Results from Google PageSpeed Insights are handled differently. They are kept only briefly, as allowed by Google's API terms, and are not held for the full 30 days.

Please do not enter confidential or personal information into tools that accept free text. The tools are built to check public websites and public text.

IP addresses#

Your IP address is used in memory to apply rate limits, which protect the site and the sites you check from abuse. It is not written to the stored tool-run records.

With each tool run we store a salted one-way hash of your IP address. A one-way hash cannot be turned back into the original address. It lets related tool runs be grouped for abuse prevention without the address itself being kept.

Contact form#

If you use the contact form, we store your name, your email address and your message so that we can read it and reply. We keep this for as long as needed to handle your message and any follow-up. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Newsletter#

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address so that we can send it to you. It is kept until you ask to be removed. You can ask to be removed at any time through the contact form.

AI Citation Index tracking requests#

If you ask us to track a brand or website in the AI Citation Index, we store the domain you submit and, if you choose to provide one, an email address. We use this to handle your tracking request and, if you gave an email address, to contact you about it.

Server logs#

Our hosting provider processes web server logs as part of running the site. Server logs typically include the IP address, the requested URL, the date and time of the request and the browser user agent.

Cookies#

Public pages and tools set no cookies.

The admin area uses a session cookie. It is used only by the site operator to sign in and is never set for visitors of public pages.

We do not currently use analytics cookies or advertising cookies.

If advertising, such as Google AdSense, is added in the future, this policy will be updated before any ads appear. Where the law requires consent for advertising cookies, we will use a consent tool so that you can accept or refuse them.

Third parties that receive data#

Some tools need to contact outside services to do the check you ask for. Those services receive only what is needed for that check:

• Google (PageSpeed Insights API). The website speed test sends the URL you test to Google, which runs the test and returns the result.
• Domain registries, RDAP and WHOIS servers. WHOIS, domain age and similar lookups send the domain name you look up to the relevant registry or server.
• The websites you ask us to check. Our server sends requests to those sites to fetch the pages being checked. The requests come from our server, not from your device, so those sites see our server's IP address, not yours. The NewBacklinkBot page describes how these requests behave.
• AI model providers. When you use the Guest Post Finder, the topic text you enter is sent to an AI model provider to help produce results. Your identity is not sent with it.
• Hosting provider. Our hosting provider stores and processes the site's data and server logs as part of hosting the site.

These providers may process data in countries other than your own, under their own terms and privacy policies.

What we do not do#

• We do not sell or rent personal data.
• We do not build advertising profiles of visitors.
• We do not require an account, a phone number or an email address to use the tools.

Your rights#

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, use the contact form and say what you would like us to do. If your request concerns a newsletter subscription, a tracking request or a message you sent, include the email address you used so we can find it.

Tool runs are stored with a hashed IP address rather than a name or email address, so we usually cannot tell which tool runs are yours. They are deleted automatically within 30 days in any case.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you further rights, such as the right to object to certain processing or to complain to a data protection authority.

Children#

The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy#

We may update this policy when the site or its practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If advertising is introduced, this policy will be updated before ads appear.
